What It Means

Phthalates, often called plasticizers, are used to make plastics more flexible and less breakable, and are found in hundreds of products such as detergents, hair sprays, deodorants, and cosmetics. Phthalates are also used to help fragrances and perfumes adhere to skin. Wild Spirit believes in clean, non-toxic beauty, therefore we do not include phthalates in our products.  

Why We Care

Wild Spirit is committed to using eco-friendly ingredients that are better for our bodies and the planet. When shopping around, people often look to the claims on the front of product packaging. While many products may boast ingredients that were not tested on animals (cruelty-free), that doesn’t necessarily mean they are free of chemicals.

In fact, many products contain harmful phthalates. Products that contain Phthalates have been known to disrupt the endocrine system, developmental and reproductive toxicity, and may sometimes cause cancer. Wild Spirit will never include those nasty phthalates in any of our perfumes or products.

How It Benefits You

In the past years, it's become increasingly clear that certain ingredients in beauty products may come with concerning side effects. When it comes to cleaning up your beauty routine, eliminating all phthalate exposure is important. Because of potential health risks, instead of including nasty chemicals and phthalates in our products, we use natural essential oils instead.

 

How We Support It

We are committed to the clean, green beauty movement, and we're hard at work developing cruelty-free perfumes without harsh chemicals, like phthalates. Fragrances and perfumes are typically known to include phthalates to help extend the aromatic strength of fragrance oil, aka to make it last longer, but not Wild Spirit fragrances.

 

Because of other beauty products and even food, we have already been exposed to phthalates and may already have them in our system, but that doesn’t mean we need them in our perfume too. While transitioning your beauty routine to clean formulas can seem overwhelming, it doesn’t have to be hard! With an OG clean fragrance brand like Wild Spirit, it’s easier than you think. All our products are cruelty-free, clean, and free of phthalates, parabens, sulphates, and dyes.
